You can use the Medical Transportation Program if you live within the Clemmons city limits.
Rides are available for medical appointments between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. We don’t provide rides on holidays or when weather conditions make it unsafe for our volunteers to drive.
You can schedule one ride per week.
Call our office at (336) 766-6486 Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., to schedule your ride. We can’t accept ride requests left on our answering machine, so please call during office hours to speak with someone directly.
The earlier you schedule your ride, the better. We ask that you call no later than Wednesday for appointments the following week.
When you call, we’ll ask for your doctor’s name, practice, address, and phone number, along with the estimated length of your appointment and whether someone will be traveling with you.
If we’re able to schedule your ride, we’ll contact you before your appointment.
Yes. Please make sure you have a working phone so we can contact you about your ride. If your appointment changes or is canceled, give us a call as soon as you can so we can make that ride available to another person.
No. Our volunteer drivers can get you to your appointment, but they can’t sign paperwork or serve as your responsible adult. If your procedure requires someone to stay with you, please arrange for a family member or friend to go with you.
No. Volunteer drivers can only take you to and from your scheduled medical appointment and aren’t able to transport wheelchairs.
Yes. Our volunteer drivers use their personal vehicles to provide rides, so we ask that you don’t wear perfume or cologne or smoke before getting in the vehicle.
